For 7 weeks, the students of the Michalski Science Class worked on the Ultimate Survivor Project. This project-based learning experience focused on the physical and behavioral adaptations that allow animals to survive in their environment. As part of this project, the students designed and constructed animals suited to a Michigan Forest environment. Each of the 32 groups built a life-sized replica of their animal (using only recycled materials) and written about the animal's adaptations. Each of the animals is part of a NCAA basketball style tournament in order to claim the title of the "Ultimate Survivor." |
